Jeannie’s expertise includes women’s health, perimenopause support, integrative and functional medicine. She uses a combination of acupuncture, herbal medicine, supplements, nutrition and compassionate care to guide patients to better health. She is adamant about the value that integrative medicine brings to patients, especially those with complex conditions that fall through the cracks and require a more personalized approach. Jeannie is dedicated to taking the time and doing the detective work necessary to understand and address complicated conditions. She works in partnership with her patients, providing a roadmap to help them get back to a healthier, more vibrant life.
Jeannie has a passion for women’s health that began with her own family history, having grown up hearing stories of her own mother’s difficulty conceiving. Through her studies of Chinese medicine since 2000, Jeannie came to appreciate the importance of menstrual health for overall wellbeing. She supports women throughout their reproductive life, from hormone and cycle regulation, to fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum care, through perimenopause, menopause, and beyond. Jeannie is a Fellow of the Acupuncture and TCM Board for Reproductive Medicine, demonstrating expertise in both Western and Chinese reproductive medicine and is a candidate in the Institute for Functional Medicine, the most rigorous functional medicine program.
Jeannie’s empathetic approach to helping patients with digestive and autoimmune issues is informed by her own journey to wellness. For more than a decade, she stems from her personal struggle with Hashimoto’s disease and eosinophilic esophagitis. Refusing to accept a dire prognosis (she was literally told her condition “would only get worse”), she successfully overcame her health challenges by combining nutrition, supplements, herbs, meditation, acupuncture, and bodywork.
Jeannie is dedicated to helping her patients understand that healing is possible and to guiding them on their path to wellness.
Jeannie has been in practice since 2004, pursuing expertise in integrative reproductive health and gynecology from the beginning of her graduate studies, including studies with renowned midwife and acupuncturist Raven Lang and a two-year Graduate Mentorship Program for advanced Chinese medicine studies with senior clinician Sharon Weizenbaum. Jeannie is currently working towards certification in functional medicine which blends biochemistry with a holistic, systems-body approach to chronic conditions.
Jeannie has also volunteered her time at the Charlotte Maxwell Integrative Cancer Care Clinic, and served as a staff acupuncturist at One Medical Group before joining the team at AcuGroup.
