AcuGroup has two areas of focus. We are well known among Bay Area sports medicine doctors, physical therapists, elite athletes and performers as the “go-to” dry needling clinic for pain, sports, and performance who can help with challenging cases. And we also specialize in Women’s Health and Functional Medicine, including reproductive medicine, perimenopause and menopause.

Our pain team features pain and dry needling experts Franco Garritano, Jonah Hershowitz, Chris O’Donnell and Akasia Nelson. Jeannie Bianchi is an IFM-certified functional medicine practitioner, and women’s health specialist who treats underlying issues that amplify pain and slow recovery (e.g. digestive health, autoimmune conditions, hormone imbalances). We’ve been doing this work for 25+ years.  

We bring extensive experience in pain care modalities, including dry needling, acupuncture, and manual therapies. We employ a team approach that is based on evidence and pain science, which includes retraining nervous system response, changing habits that contribute to pain and reducing inflammation in the body. Integrative treatment plans may include nutrition, lifestyle change, and botanical therapies.

We collaborate with a strong network of other health care providers, including physicians, physical therapists and manual therapists when that’s what’s needed to help you heal.
